Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

β€œThe boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community offered condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
