Trump's Family Member Seeks Professional Tips from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete boasts impressive online audience
Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known backers when she makes her LPGA debut later this week.
This teenage golfer, who is connected to a former US president, received a special exemption to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns several international courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"He practically told me to compete and have fun," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has competed in just three tournaments recently and has the 461st position in AJGA listings.
Yet she can get advice from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with her mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive individual. He advised me to play, relax, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against multiple top competitors in women's golf at the Annika, such as world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce golf to wider groups, especially reaching the next generation.
The young star has millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
