Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the duo.

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Sufficient time has gone by that I can now put my grief into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the production, adding that he could not remember "any day without laughter".
"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator
In a different piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted
In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.
A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.
The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the result of foul play, with a official listing listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
Fallout and Commentary
In the wake of the deaths, public figures offered varying reactions.
Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making divisive statements that were widely condemned by many public figures.
Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors last week. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan characterized the statements as "disappointing" and suggested they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by proposing that an associate could have intervened when the decision to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
