Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
